Electric Floor Heating Under Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) are increasingly popular choices for heated floors — they’re waterproof, durable, and available in wood and stone looks at lower cost than the real thing. Most LVP products rated for radiant heat work well with Heatwave systems.

Heatwave installs beneath LVP in a self-leveling compound or thinset layer. The vinyl floats or glues down on top. Because vinyl is sensitive to temperature extremes, it’s important to use a floor sensor thermostat (included in Deluxe and Premium kits) to keep floor surface temperature within the vinyl manufacturer’s specified limits — typically under 80°F.

Always verify your specific LVP product’s compatibility with radiant floor heating before purchasing a system.
